This residential car park required a secure and practical solution for two key areas: the main entrance and the loading bay. The client needed a system that not only delivered reliable protection but also maintained airflow and natural light within the car park environment.

Balancing Security and Ventilation

Securing car park environments often requires more than just physical strength – solutions must also consider everyday functionality, regulatory compliance, and resident convenience.

This project presented two distinct challenges: the main car park entrance required a security solution that allowed for natural airflow and visibility to support ventilation and protection, and the loading bay access required a shutter system that met Secured by Design and LPS 1175 SR2 standards.

A single product wouldn’t meet both sets of needs, so a combination approach was essential.

THE SOLUTION

A Fusion of Stackdoor and Xonar

Two premium security solutions were installed. For the main car park entrance, Stackdoor offered the ideal mix of security and open area. It allows over 80% airflow, features self-locking pin-to-profile technology to prevent forced entry, and operates via motorised controls for smooth, reliable access. The compact stacking design preserves headroom, and the product was finished in metallic gold to complement the development’s modern look.

For the loading bay, a Xonar 942 shutter was installed. Independently certified to LPS 1175 Issue 7, SR2 and Secured by Design standards, and features self-locking profiles that prevent lifting even when partially open. Both solutions work together to provide robust protection and a clean finish.
