Luxury Retail on Buchanan Street
This project involved a prestigious luxury watch boutique operated by the Watches of Switzerland Group. Located on Glasgow’s renowned Buchanan Street, the 60-square-metre boutique required a discreet but secure solution to protect its premium inventory without compromising the interior design of the listed building.
Listed Building Constraints and Corner Configuration
Incorporating physical security into the site’s new interior layout was a challenge. The store’s corner profile and the heritage restrictions meant that standard roller shutters would be visually intrusive and architecturally unsuitable.
The retailer needed a system that could adapt to the space, preserve visibility into the store, and comply with heritage guidelines – all without compromising security.
Adaptive, Elegant, and Secure
To meet the store’s complex requirements, Stackdoor Corner was specified. With over 80% open area, Stackdoor Corner allows clear visibility into the store even when the shutter is down. Its unique ability to secure corners without intermediate guides was key to preserving both layout flexibility and visual access.
The system was manufactured in stainless steel to ensure durability and resistance to forced entry. It was powder-coated in black for minimal visual impact when in use, and the side guides were finished in gloss anthracite to complement the store’s loft-style décor.
The small stacking zone delivered a high-end solution aligned with the brand’s premium aesthetic and the building’s architectural constraints.

It maintains high visibility with over 80% open area, operates with a small stacking zone, and requires no intermediate guides, ensuring a smooth, visually unobtrusive security solution.
