When the telecommunications company, Salt decided to open a new store in the shopping centre in Langnau, Emmental, they wanted to enhance their strong brand identity and secure the retail space after normal shopping hours.
Selling the latest new generation mobile phones, televisions and home technical equipment, they wanted to ensure that the products were visible when people were passing through the shopping mall after their store had closed but maintain a high level of security.
As the retail space had been used previously, they needed to completely refurbish the store, but when assessing the physical security options available to them, it soon became obvious that a roller shutter system could not be installed without considerable structural work to the ceiling and the entrance area of the store. There simply wasn’t enough space above the ceiling to allow for a roller hood box, without considerable additional cost.
The general contractor who was converting the premises contacted Bauteil AG for advice and they suggested that Stackdoor could provide the perfect solution. The stacking grille uses a much smaller volume at the top of the opening and the robust steel bars and open structure of the Stackdoor would give 80% visibility to the merchandise as well as high security.
Two black, powder coated Stackdoor Standard products were ordered to match the Salt brand colour and Stackdoor dealer, Bauteil AG was able to install them in one day. The system also features motorised controls to give a smooth, opening and closing operation.
